NO LOVE
by Kevin Rutherford
There are many who misunderstand Ephesians 2:8, 9. Some believe this verse tell us we don’t have to do anything to be saved. "Just believe in Christ and the grace of God will save you." What they do not understand is the fact that true Biblical faith involves obedience to God. We are not saved by works of merit whereby we could boast and say we earned our salvation. However, God’s grace will not save anyone who refused to obey Him (Matthew 7:21).
Those who believe we are saved by merely accepting the facts about Jesus Christ are those who are lacking in love. They may have love for their families and fellow man, but they do not have a proper love for God. John wrote, "This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. (2 John 1:6). John also said, "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments (1 John 5:3)."
We are saved by the grace of God. But the grace of God will not save anyone who does not love God. Those who will not obey God do not love Him. Therefore, those who do not obey God will not be saved.
